The May Day dilemma

I was on the Iron Horse the other night when I noticed bunch of stickers tattooed all across those funky ads they have on every train. However, I wasn’t the only one who noticed them. The only other guy in the train car was this middle-aged white dude with construction boots and a dope leather carpenter’s satchel that you could tell he had worn down through making a living. Before I could get closer to read what was on the stickers, he was standing in front of me, peeling them off. When they wouldn’t come off, he pulled a scraper out of his back pocket and got busy.  I have a feeling he won’t be attending May Day 2010

more yuptivist swag: Hello Rewind laptop sleeves

What is your favorite t-shirt of all time? If you’re anything like us over here at tyd.com, it’s probably something old and tattered, but with so much sentimental value that you’d rather never wear a shirt again than throw it away.  Well, what if you could turn it into something equally as dope, save the environment, protect your new Macbook pro, and feel good about helping former victims of sex-trafficking?  Wait, did you hear that? Yuptopian Paradise: Urban Commons

The Boston Vegetarian Food Festival: A quantitative analysis by tyd

This weekend I found myself at the helix of the entire population of decent-wage earning, progressive-thinking people in LovemeBoston.  In my mind, I had always visualized this place to be more dazzling and abstract: a yuptastic indie-film festival with a fair trade, open, coffee bar, that featured a 20-minute, silent, modern furniture auction in between each movie (or something close to that).  Fortunately, the reality of this sacred crossroad was not too far off from my vision.  I bring you, the Boston Vegetarian Food Festival…

Public Enemy #1: Evgeny Morozov

To my Egalitarian Yuppie Militia, it’s time to take up arms and prepare for war, as we have come under direct attack evgeny_morozov1from a skeptic/evil enemy by the name of Evgeny Morozov.  In a recent guest post for Foreign Policy Magazine, Morozov made some inflammatory statements of his Georgetown polluted opinion in regards to our generation’s e-activist mentality.  People, these remarks simply cannot be seen as anything short of fighting words.  Well guess what Evgeny, I’ve brought the troops with me and we’re about to bring the e-noise to your area.
